St. Mary's
St. Mary’s of the Wasatch Academy, a Catholic girls’ school that had operated since 1926, sold this small section of land to a developer in 1957. The original neighborhood was built on 135 acres. When the school closed in 1970, the rest of the Wasatch Academy land was sold for development. This quiet hideaway between 1300 and 1600 S. and Wasatch Drive to the foothills on the city’s east bench, is one of the loveliest and most desirable locations in Salt Lake City. Most of the homes are large and speak for themselves. Many prominent locals call this neighborhood home.
