Downtown and Central City

Downtown Salt Lake has transformed itself, building new high-rises and coming to terms with it historic structures, lifting the fog of creeping decay in the inner city. Many of its older businesses and apartment buildings have become fashionable residential addresses. Lofts with high ceilings, exposed brick, and big windows give our inner-city Gateway District a tres chic look but the price tag for this trendy lifestyle can be high.

Central City, just east of downtown is another matter. On the decline for many years, this run-down section of town is still reasonably safe and chock full of charming older homes, badly in need of love and repair. Much of this property has also been rezoned for commercial use.
